Dormicum at the dentist: Your path to a relaxed treatment
Sedation with Dormicum is a proven and safe method of making dental procedures more comfortable for patients. Dormicum is a fast-acting agent containing the active ingredient midazolam, which has calming and anxiety-relieving properties.
- During your first appointment, we will first check your general state of health. We will discuss any possible intolerances and the entire sedation process.
- If there are no contraindications to sedation with Dormicum, we will administer the medication intravenously via a syringe immediately before treatment.
- Treatment begins as soon as the Dormicum takes effect. Our team monitors you carefully throughout the procedure. Many of our patients relax so deeply that they can hardly remember anything after the treatment.
- After the procedure, you will remain in our relaxation area for a while. As soon as the effects of the Dormicum wear off and you feel fit, you can go home. You should then rest for a few hours.
Good to know: Please bring someone with you. After sedation, you should not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours.
